West Side Baptist Church is a Baptist church in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. In many ways we are similar to most traditional Baptist churches. At our inception we were Southern Baptist. Today we still work along side many Southern Baptist churches and organizations. We associate with other Baptist groups such as the Pilot Mountain Baptist Association and the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship of North Carolina. We also work with local service agencies such as Samaritan Ministries, Crisis Control and the Shepherd's Center.
Our goal is to help people grow in their relationship with God. That sounds like an awfully imposing task. But we believe God works to help us help others come to know him better. That's a good thing because we need all the help we can get. We love God and want to be just like him, but we still struggle to follow his example and teachings. The people that come to our church don't always do the things we know we should do and we are frustrated and ashamed of that. But we still seek to be just like him. And he patiently keeps working with us. He will patiently keep working with anyone who asks him to.
As our community develops, we work at being a relevant experience for our neighbors. We can't be all the different types of churches people desire, so we try to be honest and loving. We suspect those are some of the most sought-after qualities people are looking for in a church. Please know that you are welcome to come and worship with us anytime. We would enjoy getting to know you personally. Until then, we pray that God will make himself real to you so that you can know him better.
